Marine Transportation

Transportation of personnel by boat may occur when weather conditions have shut down helicopter operations for a number of hours, or as determined on a case-by-case basis by the RSO, Replace with Safety Person’s Name, or overall company policy.

 Licensing/ Authority

Safe operation of a vessel is the exclusive duty of the captain of the vessel. The captain has the authority to refuse passage to anyone who does not follow instructions and obey the rules, including following the captain and crew’s instructions concerning:

 seating arrangements

  • loading procedure
  • storage of luggage and cargo
  • smoking restrictions.

If you are unfamiliar with the safety features of the boat, inform the boat captain or a crew member so that you can be briefed appropriately.  All vessel captains shall possess current licenses as issued by the property authority to navigate any vessel.  [1]
